NFL live stream UK: how to watch American football online

Editor’s Note: The clocks go back on Sunday, October 25 in the UK, meaning NFL games will be on-air an hour earlier than last week. For example, a 1pm ET Sunday kick-off will now be shown at 5pm in the UK, not 6pm.

UK-based American fans can watch up to six NFL games live and in their entirety each week courtesy of Sky Sports, with the network now boasting a new dedicated Sky Sports NFL channel as well as offering access to the live RedZone highlights show each Sunday.

If you don’t already have Sky and aren’t up for subscribing, the best option right now to watch these games in terms of value for money is Now TV, whose Monthly Sports Pass is by far the best value option. Now TV also offers a £9.99 24-hour pass if you really only need to watch a game or two.

There’s also amazing news for the real NFL-obsessed who are prepared to stay up for Monday Night Football way past midnight in the UK. Channel 5 is showing every game for FREE! That’s on TV, online, and via its apps.

Lastly, the NFL Game Pass Pro is another good bet, as £143.99 gets you every single game of the 2020/21 season (subject to blackouts) including the playoffs, Super Bowl, RedZone access and more!

How to watch the NFL online in Australia

If you live in Australia and want to watch the NFL this season, you have several options to do so. Foxtel will be broadcasting games weekly and you can also stream games to your laptop or mobile devices using the Foxtel Go app but you’ll need your Foxtel ID to access the app.

Just as Foxtel does, Kayo Sports will also show a number of games throughout the season with weekly coverage expected.

The streaming service has a Basic and a Premium plan with the difference being you can watch on two devices with the Basic plan for $25 per month and on three devices with the Premium plan for $35 per month. The best news? Both plans come with a FREE 14-day trial so if you’re looking just to watch a specific game or two you can cancel after the 14 days.

However, for the proper, live-for-it NFL fans, we highly recommend you sign up for an NFL Game Pass as it is also available in Australia, and even though it is marginally more expensive you have a much wider range of features.

Should I buy an NFL Game Pass this season?

Watching NFL online has never been easier thanks to the wide variety of streaming services now available. However, the league also has its own streaming service called the NFL Game Pass which allows die-hard football fans to watch every game.

It’s really geared towards international fans and that’s where it’s a great option. In most of the NFL’s main international markets, a Game Pass Pro subscription will get you access to every single regular season and playoff game live, plus the Super Bowl, and you also get the league’s live highlights show, RedZone. It costs £14.99 a week or £143.99 a year, so if you’re a big fan who watches multiple games every week, it breaks down quite favourably.

As well as the UK and Ireland, the service is available in countries like Mexico, Germany and most of Europe, and Australia – with only ‘domestic markets’ the US and Canada missing out on the full-fat offering.

Instead, there’s a US and Canada-only Game Pass option available for $99 a a year that lets you watch commercial-free full game replays right after they’ve finished. Not the worst offer we’ve ever heard, but don’t get caught out – GamePass does not offer live NFL games in the US or Canada.

Should you decide to give Game Pass a shot, apps for Android and iOS mobile devices as well as on the likes of Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku, PS4, and more – plus you can obviously watch on your laptop or desktop computer through a browser.

The only caveat for non-domestic markets (e.g. the UK) are that some games are subject to blackout restrictions due to deals with local pay TV providers (e.g. Sky).

TechRadar’s NFL Game of the Week (week 7): Titans vs Steelers

This is an easy one, as we’ve got a battle of two undefeated teams to look forward to in game week 7, as the 5-0 Steelers and Titans collide in the AFC.

It’s a game that was originally scheduled to be played at the start of the month, but was postponed due to a Covid-19 outbreak at the Titans’ practice facility, and now takes place at 1pm ET / 10am PT / 5pm GMT on Sunday, October 25 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.

The game will be played with a limited number of fans in attendance and is scheduled to be shown by CBS in the US and has been snapped up by Sky Sports as one of its featured games in the UK (where the clocks going back mean an earlier start time of 5pm this week, as mentioned above).

Who won the last Super Bowl?

The reigning Super Bowl champions are the Kansas City Chiefs, who won Super Bowl LIV in 2020 by defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-20. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was named MVP of the game.

When is Super Bowl LV 2021 and where is it being played?

Super Bowl LV, or Super Bowl 55, is scheduled for Sunday, February 7 and is set to be played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida – the third time the stadium has hosted the big game. It also represents the fourth time in NFL history that the Super Bowl is being held in the same state back-to-back years – Miami having hosted Super Bowl LIV in 2020.

Who are the favorites to win Super Bowl 55 in 2021?

As we approach the mid-way point of the 2020/21 NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) are still the favorites to win Super Bowl LV and repeat as Super Bowl champions, closely followed by the Baltimore Ravens (5-1) – just as they were back in September.

Beyond that, much has changed and the undefeated Seattle Seahawks (5-0) and Pittsburgh Steelers (5-0) are now viewed as the biggest threats to the pre-season favorites. Also on the rise are are the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2), while perennial NFC standouts the New Orleans Saints (3-2) and Green Bay Packers (5-1) are also viewed as contenders.

The Tennessee Titans (5-0) and Chicago Bears (5-1) are among those still being largely overlooked by the bookies, despite their impressive records, while the New England Patriots (2-3) and San Francisco 49ers (3-3) have seen their stock drop considerably following their lacklustre starts to the season.
